Growing Champions™ supports you as you strive for a place on top of the podium. Prospective athletes apply via the Growing Champions website. A selection committee comprised of representatives from the Growing Champions Partners (2010 Legacies Now, Sport BC, PacificSport, BC Athlete Voice and the Province of BC) will determine potential athletes based upon the criteria listed below.

If accepted, a profile of you will be created and placed on the Growing Champions website, which is accessible to businesses and individuals across BC seeking ways to support you and your dreams.

If connected to a business three out of every four dollars raised will go directly to you. The remaining dollar will support future athlete development programs and increase sport participation in BC for many generations to come.
Benefits of Participating
Once connected to a business, Growing Champions athletes will receive $3,750 annually for up to three years, to use towards training, competition, travel and equipment expenses. Growing Champions aims to share your stories of challenges and triumphs to inspire businesses and people outside of sport.
Through Growing Champions, businesses and individuals are supporting the teamwork, determination and leadership you and your fellow athletes demonstrate, and are fostering the transfer of these skills back into the community.
Eligibility
Growing Champions is open to BC athletes who currently are:

Registered with PacificSport and in good standing with their Provincial Sport Organization (PSO), Multi-Sport Organization (MSO), and/or National Sport Organization (NSO).

Summer or winter sport, national-level athletes (who are not nationally carded) or provincial-level athletes demonstrating potential to qualify for Canadian national teams.
Selection Process
A selection committee comprised of representatives from the Growing Champions Partners (2010 Legacies Now, Sport BC, PacificSport, BC Athlete Voice and the Province of BC) will determine recipients based upon, but not solely limited to, the following criteria (percentage of value is listed in parentheses):

Athletic Achievement (60%)

Community Involvement (20%)

Quality and thoroughness of responses to questions 1-4 in Section C - Getting to Know You of the Growing Champions Athlete Application (20%)
