Executive Director: Dave Newson
Dave comes to BC Athlete Voice with extensive experience in working with High Performance Athletes. His role with BC Athlete Voice involves producing athlete-centred resources, programs and services to support the development of High Performance Athletes in BC. Dave has been involved in athlete leadership, advocacy and development through work with the Vancouver 2010 Organizing Committee and with the Athletic Department at the University of BC.
Past roles have included coaching university level athletes, and working with provincial level hockey programs. Dave has been involved in a number of community programming initiatives and has had the opportunity to work with athletes ranging from young amateur athletes to Olympians and World Champions.
Dave is passionate about athlete representation at all levels of the sport system and enjoys working with athletes of all abilities.
